From Dave Young:
I’m writing in support of Coloradans for Protecting Reproductive Freedom, the nonpartisan ballot measure campaign supporting an amendment to the Colorado Constitution guaranteeing a right to an abortion here in Colorado, regardless of insurance status.
To qualify for the 2024 ballot, the campaign must gather 185,000 signatures by April 25th, 2024. Although the campaign anticipates an extensive volunteer signature collection effort, the paid signature collection will be needed to ensure that this ballot measure meets the requirements to get on the ballot.
And, this is why we need your help. We estimate our paid signature-gathering and ballot qualification efforts will cost around $3.2 million. Groups across Colorado are working to raise funds for this effort and we know that our friends in Greeley want to pitch in.
Mary and I are hosting a fundraising event on Thursday, February 29th at the home of our good friends, Judy and Rok Kron. Their home is in Greeley and the event starts at 5:30pm. We think it is shaping up to be a wonderful evening and would love to see you there.
Will you attend and contribute to this event to help with this important work? To RSVP and Donate please click HERE. Judy and Rok’s address will be provided upon RSVP.
If you are interested in collecting petitions, please follow the link HERE.
If you want to donate via check, please make it out to “Coloradans for Protecting Reproductive Freedom” and send it to the campaign at PO Box 271154 Louisville, CO 80027. Donated amounts to the committee are not subject to contribution limits and are not tax deductible. If you want to contribute by check, call Colin (see below) for the address of the event.
When the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the Constitutional right to abortion in 2022, it became clear that Coloradans must act to protect our rights in case the state’s political winds shift directions. Even in a state like ours, barriers to care exist, rights are not guaranteed, and not every Coloradan has the freedom to access abortion care that they should.
The time to act is NOW!
